How to Carve Like a Pro
Are the soon-to-be-in-laws coming for dinner? Are you trying to impress someone with your top shelf culinary skills? Or perhaps you want to maximize the mouthwatering tenderness of that roast you’ve invested in? Whatever the reason, carving can be an intimidating thing to do for many of us. Have no fear though, we’ve got you covered! Do you need carving tools? If you have a carving set that’s great, glad you’re using it. For those who don’t have a carving set, don’t worry, you’ll still see an improvement in the taste and tenderness when you follow the three steps below. If you are looking to buy a set, we recommend Granton-type blades. There is a Granton company, but the type of blade they make for carving is now universally referred to as a Granton blade. These blades contain little scallops (or dents) in the blade itself, which allows for air pockets between the beef and the blade. These air pockets assist in slicing the beef without shredding or tearing it, which again contributes to the tenderness of the beef. That said, lets get carving! |
